FAQ


I'm interested in completing a program. Where do I start?

Okay, so because we are a results based gym, we only want to work with a certain type of person (someone who is willing to show up & do the necessary work, giving 100% during each workout) we have an application form for all potential members to fill out. This is not your average "quick fix", generic gym/fitness class where you have a trainer roar & shout at you for 60 minutes, with very little actual coaching. We pride ourselves on our coaching abilities; to teach you great technique & provide you with the most advanced programming to get You results as fast & as realistic as possible.


Who is this program for?

The majority the gang that train here are men & women who may be used to be active a few years ago, but life started getting the way with work, family & relationship commitments. We're here for you if your open, willing & committed to learn how to enhance your life. All the coaches are real people too. The team is made up of 6 people - 5 of which are busy mums & dads so we're well aware that we need to make training fun enjoyable, fast & get you want out of it.


I have none or little experience lifting weights. Does it matter?

Absolutely not. In fact, in a lot of cases it's almost better if you have little experience because you're a "blank canvas" so to speak, who probably has very few bad habits.


What will my first week look like?

During your first week it's understandable that you may feel slightly nervous. Don't sweat it we've all been there. We pride ourselves on being one of least intimidating fitness facilities in Ireland. Both staff & members are very friendly. During your first week you'll be taken through a private coaching session lasting aprox 60 mins where we'll get to know you & your goals in greater detail. You'll then choose 3 out of the 8 beginner class times you wish to attend, where you'll be shown everything you need to know. After this introduction week you can choose any of the class times available.


How do I book into classes?

All classes must be booked in advanced. You can change them anytime you want but cancelation of classes must be down within 4 hours prior to the class, to allow someone else to book in if needs be. There are a limited amount of space in each class as this ensures quality coaching & time spent with each individual. Booking take place through our gym app on your phone. It's very easy to use & you will be shown everything.


Do I need to be fit before joining?

Nope. This is what you come to us for. We will turn you into a mini strength & fitness machine with a love for our class variety. We aim to be the best part of your day & make the challenge of getting into the best shape you've ever been in as fun as possible by adding lots of variety.

How much is it?

First of all, if your only looking for the cheapest price you're looking in the wrong place. There are many gyms & classes who offer cheap membership, but you'll have the services & results that match it. We like to think you get what you pay for. You're program includes a lot. You have access to as many of the 22 weekly classes as you'd like that we run during the week. We typically recommend 4/5 days per week but you can see results with 3 days also. The total investment is €31.50 per week on a single membership rate. There is also a couples rate of €26.50 per week And a special discount for groups of 5 or more joining.


What value to I get for my money?

We'll provide you with the most value you've ever experienced from a gym. We're probably like nothing else you've tried before. Here are just some of the reasons that set us apart:

  • Coaching: We have a team of dedicated & enthusiastic staff that are always upgrading their skills & knowledge to provide you with the highest standard of training. We even run separate (private) classes just to coach beginners. Sound technique & understanding your body is the first step in achieving everything you want. You will not get this in a "normal gym" or other class groups
  • Programming: This basically means how & why certain exercises are chosen. It's something that not a lot of the general public are aware of. The majority of places you've probably been to before will use a one size fits all program. Or worse again, just make a series of random exercises put together 60 minutes before a class. Our programming is divided into 4 levels based on your experience & strength levels. So we'll tell you how much weight you should lift, right down how hard...or easy you should push each workout. This will enhance your results even further. Facility: We've recently moved facility to a larger location. We've also added a boat load of top of the rage new equipment.
  • Online Nutrition Coaching: This feature of our program is €70 monthly for those not training in our facility. You get it included. This is the highest standard of nutrition coaching. We run a 52 week long nutrition program. What does this tell you about what we stand for?
  • Postural & Movement Assessment: Another way, we've set the bar as high as possible is be giving you a 60 minute assessment with a Specialist Neuromuscular Physical Therapist within your first few weeks of training. This will mean less injuries, aches (particular vigilant on lower back pain) & postural correction techniques.
  • Live streaming Yoga Classes: One of our main objectives is to get you nimble, less stiff & carry yourself confidently through excellent posture. So we stream live yoga classes straight to your living room.
  • Fundamental Movement Classes: These classes are delivered by our Clinical Pilates Coach twice weekly. It's a mixture of breathing techniques & how learning how to engage your core correctly. These classes are especially beneficial for women who've had children, as well as both men & women who play sport & are returning from an injury, or even to prevent a future injury.
  • Results: Look, you're probably here for one reason: RESULTS. We guarantee them. If you're not 100% satisfied we'll give you everything you've invested right back...no questions asked.
  • Your Mindset: I realise that you may have concerns on whether you can afford this program. That understandable. But you're probably already spending that money on something that's taking you away from your goals, instead of towards them. It works out at €3.70 - €4.50 a day for EVERYTHING I just mentioned. That's less than 2 coffees a day or takeaway for two at the weekend.

What happens if I am going away on holidays & I have to miss a few weeks? Am I still able to follow the training  program?

We will send you a copy of your training program every week, in case you are away & want to keep doing it. We will also pause your membership if you're ever travelling, until you're home.


I have and old/existing injury, can I still do the program?

We screen all new clients before stating a program. This movement screen allows us to look for old & new injuries & lets the coaches know what exercises you should & shouldn't do. In our coaching team is a neuromuscular physical therapist & clinical Pilates instructor.


Do I have to follow a strict meal plan?

You’ve probably tried all the other stuff already. (And you’re probably tired of it.) Instead, The Fundamental Body is a different, better, and more fulfilling way to improve your body and live a confident, healthy life. Eating, moving, and healthy living should be an extension of who you already are. It should bring joy. It should play nicely with everything else in your world. Above all, health and fitness should be simple, do-able, realistic, and manageable for your busy life.
